Hello! I’m Sasha

Licensed Speech Language Therapist

Aleksandra (Sasha) Brodskaya, M.A., CCC-SLP treats receptive and expressive language & literacy impairments in school-age children. She is trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach through Ascend Learning. She has worked in various settings over the past five years including early intervention, preschool, & K-12 schools. She has a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She has her Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA, is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Examiners, and has a School Speech & Language Educational Specialist Certification.

Comprehensive Evaluations

Speech-Language Evaluations encompass assessment in vocabulary (semantics), sentence structure (syntax), narratives, grammar, morphology, phonological awareness, social communication, and more. Language assessments gather information across the domains: oral expression, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and written expression. Assessments for articulation, phonological disorders, and stuttering are also available.

Research has long demonstrated the connection between language impairment and impaired reading & writing skills. I provide individualized therapy for children struggling with the following impairments:

  • Understanding & following directions
  • Expressing their thoughts clearly and coherently
  • Retelling stories and personal events
  • Identifying topics and main ideas
  • Recalling details
  • Summarizing information
  • Retaining & Learning Vocabulary
  • Writing and Spelling
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Reading Fluency
  • Oral and Written Grammar
  • Using sentences of appropriate length and complexity for their age

“Sasha was very helpful to my daughter Chasya. She provided pragmatic language therapy in an encouraging and non-judgmental way. Chasya looked forward to her sessions and was able to apply what she learned in real life situations. Aleksandra really made Chasya feel comfortable and enabled her to learn and grow in her own way.”
